There are 56* organ procurement organizations (OPOs) in the United States. OPOs are responsible for working with donor hospitals to help place donor organs for transplant. Their OPO-specific reports (OSRs) contain information about the deaths in the OPO's donor service area and metrics detailing which organs were successfully placed for transplant.
United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) is proposing reforms that will improve the U.S. organ donation and transplant system. They have also outlined changes to the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN) contract that they believe will hold all parts of the system accountable to better serve the patients who rely on them every day.
Donate Life America educates, inspires and activates the public to say yes to registering their decision to be an organ, eye and tissue donor.
Live On Nebraska is one of 56 organ procurement organizations throughout the country. They are an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to saving and healing lives through organ, tissue and eye donation. There service area includes all of Nebraska and Pottawattamie County, Iowa.
